Abstract

Background: Unbalanced of proinflammatory and anti inflammatory in obese make necrosis of cell that can activate nuclear factor κβ that enhance production of C reactive protein (infammation) in large amount. CRP in many studies reported that have correlation with insulin resistance. This study aim to investigated how correlation of BMI, HsCRP with HOMA IR in adult men
Methods: This was an observational study with cross sectional design on adult men in Pekanbaru, Riau
Results: There was a positive and significant correlation between BMI and HsCRP (r= 0.275; p=0.001), between BMI and HOMA IR (r= 0.415; p=0.000), between HsCRP and HOMA IR (r=0.158; p= 0.049) with significancy <0.05
Conclusions: There is correlation between BMI with, HsCRP and HOMA IR in adult men in Pekanbaru, Riau
